As an Interior Designer, our job is to design a functional and beautiful living space that fits our clients’ personal needs. But for us, it’s much more than that! We believe it’s essential to make a client feel truly special the moment they step foot into their new home. Personalizing a client’s space is a great way to reflect who they are and give their home meaning with a story to tell.
Take a look below at ways we incorporated our clients’ own pieces and personalized their home!
Photography
We incorporated our Bachelor client’s own photography into his home for a special touch. His passion for travel revealed itself through his photography of different landscapes and terrains. The black and white photos were interesting on their own, so getting them professionally framed and matted was all that was needed. We grouped the photos together in his living room so he can show off his photography and impress his guests when they visit!
Collectibles and Antiques
This client’s husband surprised her with an antique scale that she had been eyeing for awhile. The scale had sentimental meaning so it was crucial to implement it into the design of their home. This beautiful Argentine meat scale does not go unnoticed now that it is the focal point of their kitchen. Placing unusual objects in unexpected places is what makes a home visually stimulating…especially when it holds sentimental value with a story to tell!
Career
These clients began their careers in accounting, so what better way to personalize their living room than to hang an abacus on the wall! Mixing in design elements related to your passion and career gives an opportunity to add something unusual to your home. The abacus we put in our client’s home is not only a piece of art, but a great conversation piece, too!
Hobbies
This little girl’s room was the perfect opportunity to be creative and fun! Skateboarding was her favorite sport and she skated and competed at a competitive level. Since skateboarding was a huge part of her life, we thought it would be purposeful to incorporate a skateboard as wall décor above her bed. Her bedroom now reflects a little bit about her personality and what makes her special!
